SENSEX closing rates for January 2011

I made this post for providing the closing prices of the 30 component benchmark index Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and also links to component wise closing prices of the SENSEX. Hence I think it would consolidate monthly trends of SENSEX into a single post and would be helpfule for the visitors to analyze the trends.

So the closing prices of BSE's benchmark SENSEX for month of january 2011 is as follows:

Indian Stock Indices BSE | NSE today's report

Major Indian stock indices like the Bombay Stock Exchange's 30 component SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's broader index NIFTY closed on a high note today. So in this post I'll give detailed report of the Indian stock markets today, sectoral indices performance of both Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange.

The 30 companies which are part of benchmark SENSEX index were at following levels at closing today. The 30 share index closed at 19799.19 up by 107.41 points today.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 5944.10, up 36.45 points. The broader index touched a high of 5953.95 during intraday trading.

Market breadth also remained positive on the BSE with 1988 advances against 946 just declines.

Stock tip for day:
1. Hero Honda stock price would gradually decline and it's high time to sell it now to lessen the losses.

Strong GDP no's lift SENSEX | NIFTY

Major Indian Stock indices including Bombay Stock exchange's 30 component SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed on a high note after markets received strong Q2 economy growth of 8.5 percent.

The benchmark large cap SENSEX is happy to hear gdp news and thus closed over 19500 levels today Sensex close at 19521.25, up 116.15 points and touched high of 19610.46 in intraday tradingsession.

Most of the sectoral indices also closed up with BSE Realty Index gaining 5.67 percent, BSE Power Index also gained 1.84 percent and BSE PSU Index added 1.73 percent. BSE Oil&gas Index was however down by 0.56 percent.

Market breadth was also positive on the Sensex with 19 advances against 11 declines hence showing mixed sentiments.

The broader index National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 5862.70, up 32.70 points today.

Indian Stock indices closes in green | SENSEX | NIFTY up

Indian Stock indices closed in green today but saw a lackluster day of trading, The details about closing prices of major indian indices is as follows:

The National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed above the 6000 mark at 6001.15, thus rising by 12.45 points today. Whereas 30 component benchmark index Bmbay Stock Exchange's Sensex closed up 75.28 points at 19,940.42. Stocks of Auto sector were major gainers, whereas Reliance Communication was major loser by over 5 percent at closing today.

SENSEX | NIFTY closes in green as Banks, IT gain

Major Indian stock indices traded in green throughout the day and finally closed in green, both 30 component benchmark index SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed in green and saw heavy purchasing through out the day today. Nifty closed at 6121.60 up 49.95 points.

The performance of National Stock Exchange(NSE) recorded today is as follows:

The Bombay Stock Exchange also closed up with IT, Pharma and Banking stocks being the major gainers. whereas Realty and Power sector stocks were on the selling side and closed down today. BSE Realty Index closed down by 1.43 percent and BSE Power Index also fell 0.20 percent at closing bell today. Other sectors remained in green and finally closed in green today BSE Bankex closed up by 2.43 percent, BSE Healthcare Index also advanced 1.07 percent and BSE IT Index gained 0.86 percent at close.

The 30 component Sensex ended at 20309.69 up 152.80 points touching high of 20335.51 during intraday trading. BSE saw 1685 declines against 1276 advances at EOD.

BSE SENSEX just shy of 21000 levels

The benchmark 30 component index Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX closed again shy of 21K levels today but might touch the level in couple of days if FII's doesnot do any selling.

Checking the major sectors today it seems that Banking shares and shares of FMCG companies were worst hit as both the sectors led the losers list.

Rise in october automotive sales saw BSE's Auto index gaining over 1 percent today, whereas BSE FMCG Index closed down 1 percent, BSE Bankex Index also closed lower by 0.76 percent and so did BSE Capital Goods Index by losing 0.71 percent wrto previous day close.

Thus concluding today's activity of indian stock markets the Sensex closed at 20,875.71, down 56.77 points just 125 points shy of 21000 levels. And the broader index National Stock Exchange Nifty ended at 6275.70, down 25.85 points.

Negative global cues pulls Indian stock markets down

Dalal Street saw heavy selling today towards the end with Bombay Stock Exchange eventually closing down at 20200 levels. Weak European markets cues and lower then expected IIP data also weakened investors confidence in global economic recovery, Profit booking was yet another factor for the lower closing witnessed at major Indian stock markets like Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange.

It is also predicted that Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will hike both the reverse repo and repo rates by 25 bp in November starting. It looks surprising that what the Ip data shows about Indian economy, The 8.5 percent growth is sustainable and will be boosted by good monsoon this year.

At EOD the 30 component Sensex closed at 20,203.34, down by 136.55 points. It touched high of 20,368.40 and low of 20,107.25 during intraday trading hours.

National Stock Exchange's broader index NIFTY closed down by 44.95 points and was at 6,090.90.

Most of the sectoral indices at Bombay Stock Exchange also closed lower as the overall market breadth was negative.

Sector waise performance for today:
BSE Midcap Index closed down by 0.51 percent, however BSE Smallcap Index ended almost flat today. BSE Realty Index fell by 1.80 percent at close today, BSE Capital Goods Index also closed lower by 1.58 percent and BSE Metals Index was down by 1.43 percent.

SENSEX closes over 250 points down | NIFTY follows

Profit booking pulled the major indian stock indices down at closing and through out the trading sessions today. With Bombay stock exchange's 30 component SENSEX and National stock exchange's broader index NIFTY also closing down because of profit booking. The Realty stocks were the worst hit and metals and capital goods followed.

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 20315.32, down 227.76 points. It hit an intraday low of 20272.77 and high of 20581.29 during intraday trading. Sectoral indices also showed same behavior as Sensex and closed lower today with BSE Midcap Index closing at 0.74 percent and BSE Smallcap Index closing down by almost 0.92 percent.

The broader index NIFTy was no different and closed at 6118, down 68.45 points.
market breadth was negative with 1878 declines against 1372 advances.

SENSEX witnesses dull day - closes down

The benchmark 30 stock SENSEX and other major stock indices in india witnessed a lackluster day today and finally closed slightly in red at EOD. The major attraction was Anil Ambani's ADAG has made investment plans of tune of 125000 crore lined up, hence the stock prices of ADAG group companies(RCom, Reliance Power) were up today. NTPC and DLF were two other stock which closed in green rest all the stocks were in red throughout the day.

At end of the day Sensex ended at 20112.50, down 4.88 points thus witnessing a lackluster day. The broader Index National Stock Exchange Nifty closed at 6034.50, down 1.15 points which is just 0.02 percent and similar to SENSEX closing today.
BSE's IT index closed in red as did the Oil and Gas companies stock prices.

Checking the sectoral indices of Bombay Stock Exchange -
BSE Midcap Index closed up by 0.25 percent, Oil and gas index was down by 0.64 percent, BSE Power Index gained 1.17 percent today backed by increase in Reliance Power prices however BSE Capital Goods Index closed up by 0.97 percent higher. BSE IT Index closed in red by 0.48 percent.

At Bombay Stock Exchange Market breadth was negative today with 1643 declines and just 1344 gainers.

Major Indian stock markets closed lower today as investors booked profits from two weeks of rally, Both Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex and National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed in red today.

Sensex closed under the psychological mark of 20000 and NSE's Nifty also closed under 6K mark in today's trading

The 30 component Sensex closed at 19,940.02, down 61.53 points. The benchmark index touched intra-day low of 19,804.02 and high of 20,105.54 during day trading today.

Analysing sectoral indices today both BSE Midcap Index closed down 0.39 percent and BSE Smallcap Index closed down by 0.23 per cent.

BSE Realty Index closed lower by 1.69 per cent, BSE IT Index also followed by 1.31 percent slip and BSE Oil&Gas Index declined by over 1 percent.

Reliance Communications, DLF, TCS headed the list of todays losers, whereas Maruti Suzuki, HDFC lead the list of those in green.

National Stock Exchange's broader index Nifty also closed under the psychological mark of 6000 and was at 5981.80 at closing and touched high of 6037.40 in intraday trading

SENSEX crosses 20000 points closes at 20001.55

Indian Stock Markets close in all green

Major Indian Stock indices like BSE's 30 component SENSEX and NSE's broader index Nifty closed over 2 percent up today on the basis of strong buying seen through out the day, hence making the rally for continuos second day today.

All of the components of the Sensex were in green at closing today, SENSEX finally closed 2.17 percent up wrto previous close. Finally Sensex closed at 19208.33 up 408.67 points today.

Top Sensex gainers included State Bank of India, HDFC, Hindalco, Reliance Infrastructure and ICICI Bank. Major sectoral indices also closed in green.
BSE Bankex index is up by 3.62 per cent, BSE Oil&Gas Index also followed with 2.57 percent rise and BSE Realty Index moved up by 2.46 percent. BSE Midcap Index was up 0.77 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved higher by 0.22 per cent.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 5760, up 119.95 points from previous close. The index touched high of 5770.60 and low of 5639.20 in intraday trading today.

Indian Stock market closed a little up today thus ending a five day decline streak, but again witnessed a lackluster day.

Oil and Gas sector stocks, Realty stocks subindices were major losers while Bank and Pharma sector looked a little promising.

Nifty closed at 5477.90, up 15.55 points from yesterdays close and reached the lowest of 5454.70 during intraday trade.

The 30 stock BSE's Sensex also closed up by about 46 points today as the rise of stock was seen mainly in FMCG, Banking sector and Pharma stocks, Sensex closed at 18226.35, up 46.71 points today.

However since the predictions about possible double dip to take place next month are gaining grounds thus despite closing up Market breadth was negative on the NSE with 1,750 declines against 1,483 advances.

Indian Stock markets saw heavy selling today throughout the day and both BSE(Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE(National Stock Exchange) closed in red territory today. BSE Smallcap Index was down by 1.42 percent at closing today.

Looked like the uncertainty about global economic recovery is ever increasing and the rumours about possible US Stock Market crash is also playing in Indian Stock markets which have now become almost sort of a global type. So I think now the downward trend of Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE) and National Stock Exchange(NSE) have begun and would continue till the end of next month.

Today there was heavy stock selling witnesses at the Bombay Stock Exchange as well as National Stock Exchange. All the subindices at BSE were in red throughout with Realty Index leading the losers list with over 3 percent decline. BSE Midcap Index was down 1.49 percent.

The 30 component index Sensex closed at 18179.64, down 131.95 points today. It touched low of 18156 during intraday trading.

The brodaer index NSE's Nifty also closed lower by 42 points at 5462.32 today.

Looks like global uncertainties are prevailing everywhere and in Indian Stock markets too, The 30 share benchmark index BSE's SENSEX, NSE's Nifty and other stock exchanges are today down due to uncertainty present.

Todays decline in stock markets was led by realty, metals and banks. All of the stocks of these sectors are down.
