Indian Stock markets closes up | REL up 4 percent



A very good evening to visitors of liveBombayStockExchange. Today Indian stock markets closed in green as both Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed higher today.

Bombay Stock Exchange's 30-share SENSEX closed up 149.48 points at 16,862.81. Reliance Industries stock price gained 4 percent after BP hinted of increasing gas production in 2 years time.

National Stock Exchange's broader index NIFTY closed up by 47.10 points at 5064.30 today.

Indian stock markets down as second dip fears rise


A very good evening to visitors of livebombaystockexchange. The news from Indian stock markets including the Bombay Stock Exchange and National stock exchange is not good as benchmark indices SENSEX and NIFTY both closed in deep red. Major global stock markets are also down as fears of second dip of recession are rising enormously.

Benchmark Indian stock indices like Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed down today. Nifty closed under 5000 today.

National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed today at 4944.15, down 112.45 points. The broader index touched a low of 4932.12 during daytrade today.

SENSEX up 270 pts | NSE Indian Stock markets up


Indian stock markets remained in green today as it took cues from yesterdays rally at US Stock markets. But should fall tomorrow due to weak global economic uncertainity. Also technical analysts are of view that the relief rally may not last long and downward correction may be in the offing as technical indicators are still bearish.

Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex closed at 17130.51, up 272.60 points.The 30-share large-cap index touched intraday low of 17022.25. Market breadth was positive on the BSE with 2205 gainers against 696 declines.

National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed at 5161, up 88.15 points. The broader index touched a high of 5197.95 in daytrading today.

BSE SENSEX just shy of 21000 levels



The benchmark 30 component index Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX closed again shy of 21K levels today but might touch the level in couple of days if FII's doesnot do any selling.

Checking the major sectors today it seems that Banking shares and shares of FMCG companies were worst hit as both the sectors led the losers list.

Rise in october automotive sales saw BSE's Auto index gaining over 1 percent today, whereas BSE FMCG Index closed down 1 percent, BSE Bankex Index also closed lower by 0.76 percent and so did BSE Capital Goods Index by losing 0.71 percent wrto previous day close.

Thus concluding today's activity of indian stock markets the Sensex closed at 20,875.71, down 56.77 points just 125 points shy of 21000 levels. And the broader index National Stock Exchange Nifty ended at 6275.70, down 25.85 points.

BSE Sensex closes up by1.31 percent



It proved to be a good day for major Indian stock markets including Sensex and National Stock exchanges as they closed up by over one percent after boosted by strong GDP figures and increase in industrial output, At Bombay Stock exchange all the sectoral sub indices closed in green while the benchmark index SENSEX closed up by a whopping 234 points thanks to the communication sector shares and Realty sector.

Talking component wise the Sensex had a growth ratio of 90 percent as 27 out of 30 components closed in green territory The Sensex finally read figures of 18205.87 up 234.75 points at closing bell today. Thus making it the biggest close since the August 4 closing.

The broader index National Stock Exchange's Nifty also closed in green by about 1.28 percent and read as 5471.85 up^ 69.45 points. Most of the buying was seen by foreign investors. Metals were the top gainers with the metal index up by over 3 percent followed by the other indices.

The global stock markets are also looking very optimistic today.

Nifty | Sensex closes in green thanks to FII'S

(posted under - BSE closing, NSE rates) - major Indian stock indices including BSE's SENSEX and NSE's NIFTY closed up today near the days high today as optimistic foreign institutions continued to pour funds in frontline stocks despite rocky world markets. FMCG,oil&gas and auto led the rally while IT stocks ended marginally lower.

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 17700.90, up 166.81 points or 0.95 per cent. The index touched intraday low of 17373.78 and high of 17725.04.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at 5312.50 up 56.35 points or 1.13 per cent. The broader index hit a low of 5210 and high of 5320.35 in today’s trade.

BSE Midcap Index was up 0.46 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index was up 0.44 per cent.

Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE FMCG Index moved 1.90 per cent higher, BSE Oil&gas Index gained 1.62 per cent up and BSE Auto Index moved 1.07 per cent higher.

IDFC (4.41%), Idea (4.28%), BPCL (4.27%), Kotak Bank (3.70%), and ITC (3.12%) were amongst the top Sensex gainers.

Indian Stock Markets closes up as EU boosts

(posted under - SENSEX closing, Indian stock markets) - Major Indian stock indices closed in green today as Euro Zone economies showed some promising growth as Euro was up by 1 percent against USD.

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex ended at 16,922.08, up 264.04 points or 1.59% per cent. The index touched a high of 16942.60 and low of 16668.91.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 5,078.60, up 78.30 points or 1.57% per cent. The 50-share index hit a high of 5085.20 and low of 4997.60.

BSE Midcap Index was up 1.15 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index advanced 1.35 per cent higher.

Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE Auto Index gained 3.53 per cent, BSE Metal Index moved 2.29 per cent higher and BSE Realty Index advanced 1.83 per cent.

Market breadth was positive on the BSE with 1555 gainers and 1089 losers.

SENSEX rises 400 pts | NIFTY up 122 pts as recession ease

Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX index gained over 400 pts today as investors become bullish about recovering economic recession, NSE's NIFTY also closed up 122 pts as similar bullish sentiments were prevelant through out the trading sessions through out the day, Detailed and sector wise performace of the day of both SENSEX ans NIFTY is as follows :

Nifty ended at 4521.55, up 122.65 points or 2.79 per cent. The broader index touched a high of 4532.40 and low of 4405.95.

Sensex closed at 15237.94, up 394.82 points or 2.66 per cent. The index touched an intra-day high of 15264.84 and low of 14997.75.

BSE Midcap Index gained 2.38 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 2.95 per cent higher.

Sectoral performance of BSE was as follow:

BSE Realty Index jumped 5.61 per cent higher, BSE Metal Index gained 4.34 per cent and BSE FMCG Index moved up 4.09 per cent.

Biggest gainers that propelled the 30-share Sensex were DLF (7.76%), Reliance Infrastructure (6.76%), Maruti Suzuki (6.63%), Hindalco Industries (6.2%) and ACC (5.96%).

NIFTY closes under 4600 | SENSEX at 15097

(5/6/09 BSE | NSE closing)- National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at 4583.70, up 11.05 points or 0.24 per cent. The broader index slipped from intra-day high of 4636.85 and touched an intra-day low of 4561.95.
