Bse's Sensex | Nse's Nifty closes in deep red



Indian Stock markets saw heavy selling today throughout the day and both BSE(Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE(National Stock Exchange) closed in red territory today. BSE Smallcap Index was down by 1.42 percent at closing today.

Looked like the uncertainty about global economic recovery is ever increasing and the rumours about possible US Stock Market crash is also playing in Indian Stock markets which have now become almost sort of a global type. So I think now the downward trend of Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE) and National Stock Exchange(NSE) have begun and would continue till the end of next month.

Today there was heavy stock selling witnesses at the Bombay Stock Exchange as well as National Stock Exchange. All the subindices at BSE were in red throughout with Realty Index leading the losers list with over 3 percent decline. BSE Midcap Index was down 1.49 percent.

The 30 component index Sensex closed at 18179.64, down 131.95 points today. It touched low of 18156 during intraday trading.

The brodaer index NSE's Nifty also closed lower by 42 points at 5462.32 today.

Realty | banks stocks drags down SENSEX and Nifty



Major Indian Stock indices including BSE's SENSEX and NSE's NIFTY are witnessing profit booking by the investors and are down, market breadth is also negative with 1538 declines against 1181 advances at Dalaal Street.

The 30 stock benchmark sensex is trading below 18400 and Nifty is also down by more than 0.5 percent from the morning session.

BSE live - SENSEX down as Realty, banks loose



Looks like global uncertainties are prevailing everywhere and in Indian Stock markets too, The 30 share benchmark index BSE's SENSEX, NSE's Nifty and other stock exchanges are today down due to uncertainty present.

Todays decline in stock markets was led by realty, metals and banks. All of the stocks of these sectors are down.

The benchmark index SENSEX has hit a low of 18377.93 and high of 18451.73 in trade so far. whereas NSE's NIFTY touched low of 5524.15 and high of 5547.25 .

BSE | NSE closes in red as uncertainity continues



Majority of Indian Stock markets remainedin red today and also closed in red as investors booked profits from the last two days of gains and news from US added to selling rate too.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 5540.20, up 61.05 points or 1.11 per cent. The 50-share index hit a high of 5544.70 and low of 5478.10.

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex ended at 18454.94, gaining 197.82 points or
1.08 per cent. The 30-share index touched an intraday high of 18475.27 from the opening level of 18276.50.

The BSE Midcap Index chalked up 0.91 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved higher by 0.79 per cent.

BSE Bankex was up 1.92 per cent, BSE FMCG Index gained 1.63 per cent and BSE Metals Index moved 0.97 per cent higher. However, BSE Realty Index was down 0.67 per cent.

Market breadth was positive, with 1,798 gainers against 1,405 losers on NSE.

Profit making drags BSE's SENSEX | NSE's NIFTY down



The 30 share benchmark index BSE's SENSEX is down by 76 points on profit making by the investors today and Indian stock markets would close in red today because of the selling witnessed at BSE and NSE.

The broader index National Stock Exchange's NIFTY is also down by nearly 25 points.

Broader markets indices are also subdued, with the BSE midcap index 0.19 percent down and the BSE smallcap index trading 0.23 percent higher.

Market breadth was negative with 1,395 scrips advancing, compared to 1,402 stocks declining and 108 remaining unchanged.

It may be recalled that this selling is due to increase profit-booking by investors after strong gains in previous two sessions pulled the Sensex down. The selling surther increased as weak data arrived from US yesterday.

BSE | NSE trading marginally down - lackluster day



Major Indian Stock markets are down today as the fears from USA engulfed Dalal street today, IT stocks took the major hit as they have nothing of their own and are dependant on USA to feed them.

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex ended at 18,048.85, down 1.93 points. The index touched a high of 18140.15 and low of 18026 in today’s trade.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at 5414.15, down 4.15 points. The index touched intraday high of 5443.55 and low of 5410.10.

Market breadth turned negative on the BSE with 701 losers against 626 gainers.

SENSEX - IT Index leads today's Stock market fall



Indian Stock indices Nifty and SENSEX closed in deep red today, National Stock Exchange index Nifty closed down by 40.10 points to 5,4520.60.

Indian software companies were most hut stocks of the day as bad news from US reached India, It may be recalled that Indian services companies earn more than 50 per cent of their revenue from the US and Europe. Software services provider, Infosys Technologies, the second-most valuable scrip on the Sensex, lost Rs 21.85 to Rs 2,810.80, while Wipro fell by Rs 9.75 to Rs 418.15 and Tata Consultancy Services by Rs 5.70 to Rs 858.85.

Trading was more of a stock-specific nature, with the result that 24 stocks in the 30-BSE index components fell, while six ended with gains.

Weak global cues pulls SENSEX down


The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex today lost 67 points as investors booked profits amid a weak global trend.

The Sensex, which scaled a fresh 30-month high yesterday, rolled back to close lower by 67.51 points at 18,219.99.

In the 30-BSE index components, 19 stocks closed with losses and 11 scrips finished higher.

The broad-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty also fell by 25.45 points to 5,460.70.

The auto sector index rose by 0.10 per cent to 8,639.53 on the back of record vehicle sales in June, in addition to Tata Motors' attractive quarter earnings.

Banks | Realty boosts Indian Markets - closes up



Major Indian Stock indices remained in green throughout the day and finally closed over 140 points up, Market breadth was positive too with 1958 gainers against 1002 losers.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at 5486.15, up 46.90 points or 0.86 per cent. The index touched a high of 5492.30 and low of 5433.25.

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 18287.50, up 143.51 points or 0.79 per cent. The 30-share index hit a high of 18309.25 and low of 18139.90.

The BSE Midcap Index added 1.16 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved higher by 1.42 per cent.

DLF, ICICI bank, tata Reliance Communications were top gainers whereas as HDFC, Cipla were seen on the other side.

Oil & Gas, banks boosts Indian markets closes in green



Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 18,114.83, up 33.62 points or 0.19 per cent. The index touched intraday high of 18,167.45 and low of 18,072.38.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at 5439.55, up 7.9 points or 0.15 per cent. The broader index touched a high of 5459.20 and low of 5426.40 in today’s trade.

The BSE Midcap Index was up 0.31 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index inched up 0.33 per cent.

Major Gainers of the day were Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Hero Honda, Reliance Industries, HDFC.

Whereas the list of losers included Reliance Communications, L&T, ITC, M&M and Jindal Steel. Market breadth was positive on the NSE with 1507 gainers against 1430 losers.

RIL, HUL, Unitech drags Indian Markets | BSE | NSE closes down


Major Indian Stock markets (BSE's SENSEX, NSE's NIFTY) closed in red today as Reliance Industries, Uniliver, IDFC, Unitech dragged the markets down today.

The details about today's trading day is as follows:

Nifty ended at 5394.35, down 36.25 points or 0.67 per cent. The broader index hit a low of 5386.25 and high of 5447.85 .

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 17952.83, down 124.78 points or 0.69 per cent. The index touched a low of 17925.40 and high of 18137.14.

BSE Midcap Index was down 0.23 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.17 per cent lower.

Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE Oil&gas Index slipped 1.97 per cent, BSE Realty Index declined 1.11 per cent and BSE Capital Goods Index edged 1.03 per cent lower. (read more...)

BSE sectoral indices closes in red



The companies listed on Bombay Stock Exchange has divided it's companies according to the sector to which those companies belong like FMCG, Oil and Gas, Bankex, BSE capital goods to name a few and the analysis of each sub index can help the investor who wants to invest or is interested in investing in one type of sector only, Such analysis (Sector wise) may be done by the broking companies which have specialists analysts for each and every sector, I remember one of my relative is Equity analyst for Oil and Gas in JP Morgan Chase bank in London bank area. So institutional investors analyse the sectoral indices or sub indices of any stock exchange in depth.

Metal | Realty | Auto stocks boosts SENSEX | NIFTY



Indian Stock markets closed up today as the Metals, realty, Auto stocks gained and boosted the Indian markets. Pharma stocks however closed down as Fortis bid plans for Parkway failed.

The 30 stock benchmark index Sensex ended at 17977.23 up by over 0.5 per cent read full. The index touched intraday high of 18012.20 and low of 17873.92.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at 5399.35, up 31.35 points or 0.58 per cent. The index touched a high of 5409.10 and low of 5368.85 in trade so far.

BSE Midcap Index was up 0.49 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.36 per cent higher.

BSE Metal Index moved up 3.16 per cent, BSE Realty Index advanced 0.98 per cent and BSE Auto Index was up 0.83 per cent. BSE Healthcare Index declined 0.27 per cent. BSE sectoral closing.

Market breadth was positive on the NSE with 1681 advances against 1479 declines.

Pharma, Auto, bank stocks drag SENSEX down -20/7



Indian stock markets witnessed a lackluster day today as there was not much at the Dalal Street.
At the end of the day, SENSEX closed down by little over 50 pts and Nifty too closed down. Major decline were in Pharma stocks, Auto stocks and banking stocks.

The details about today's trading are as follows:

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 17856.75, down 71.67 points. The index touched intraday high of 18040.17 and low of 17848.07.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at day’s low of 5353.65, down 32.80 points. The index touched a high of 5416.45 in today’s trade.

BSE Midcap Index was down 0.47 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.43 per cent lower.

BSE Healthcare Index declined 0.92 per cent and BSE Auto Index slipped 0.88 per cent higher and BSE Bankex was 0.55 per cent lower. BSE Realty Index moved up.
