Metal | Realty | Auto stocks boosts SENSEX | NIFTY

Indian Stock markets closed up today as the Metals, realty, Auto stocks gained and boosted the Indian markets. Pharma stocks however closed down as Fortis bid plans for Parkway failed.

The 30 stock benchmark index Sensex ended at 17977.23 up by over 0.5 per cent read full. The index touched intraday high of 18012.20 and low of 17873.92.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at 5399.35, up 31.35 points or 0.58 per cent. The index touched a high of 5409.10 and low of 5368.85 in trade so far.

BSE Midcap Index was up 0.49 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.36 per cent higher.

BSE Metal Index moved up 3.16 per cent, BSE Realty Index advanced 0.98 per cent and BSE Auto Index was up 0.83 per cent. BSE Healthcare Index declined 0.27 per cent. BSE sectoral closing.

Market breadth was positive on the NSE with 1681 advances against 1479 declines.

Indian Stock Indices - BSE | NSE down

Major Indian Stock markets closed in red today as ITC, maruti, Sterlite and delhi land finance were in red through out the trading day. It may be noted that market breadth was however positive with 1492 advances and 1380 declines.

The reason for lower closing is mainly weak global cues with major world indices in red.

BSE witnesses lackluster trading day

Major Indian stock indices saw a lackluster day as the SENSEX, NIFTY closed marginally up. Global uncertainity was the major cause as the asian peers and the US Markets were down. The biggest losers for the day were BPCL, DLF HDFC (which weer also sold just for profit booking as these stocks were in green yesterday.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at 5379.90, down 6.25 points.

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 17913.42, down 24.74 points. BSE Midcap Index was up 0.20 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.16 per cent higher. BSE FMCG Index moved up 0.80 per cent and BSE IT Index advanced 0.63 per cent. BSE Oil&gas Index declined 0.78 per cent and BSE Realty Index edged 0.70 per cent lower.

Indian Stock Markets | SENSEX | NIFTY closes in red

All the major Indian stock indices remained in red throughout the trading day and finally closed in red to because of global cues and China, Metals and Auto companies stock were hit the most during intraday trading. Market breadth was negative on the BSE with 743 declines against 559 advances.

The 30 share benchmark index Sensex closed at 17503.33, down by 197.57 points compared to previous close. National Stock Exchange’s Nifty also followed and closed at 5249.20, down by over 63.30 points.

BSE Midcap Index was down 0.44 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index was up 0.10 per cent.

Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE Metal Index was down 1.71 per cent, BSE Realty Index fell 1.40 per cent and BSE Auto Index slipped 1.37 per cent.

Nifty | Sensex closes in green thanks to FII'S

(posted under - BSE closing, NSE rates) - major Indian stock indices including BSE's SENSEX and NSE's NIFTY closed up today near the days high today as optimistic foreign institutions continued to pour funds in frontline stocks despite rocky world markets. FMCG,oil&gas and auto led the rally while IT stocks ended marginally lower.

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 17700.90, up 166.81 points or 0.95 per cent. The index touched intraday low of 17373.78 and high of 17725.04.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at 5312.50 up 56.35 points or 1.13 per cent. The broader index hit a low of 5210 and high of 5320.35 in today’s trade.

BSE Midcap Index was up 0.46 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index was up 0.44 per cent.

Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE FMCG Index moved 1.90 per cent higher, BSE Oil&gas Index gained 1.62 per cent up and BSE Auto Index moved 1.07 per cent higher.

IDFC (4.41%), Idea (4.28%), BPCL (4.27%), Kotak Bank (3.70%), and ITC (3.12%) were amongst the top Sensex gainers.

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 17755.94, up 6.25 points or 0.04 per cent. The 30-share index touched intraday low of 17629.19 and high of 17782.41.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at 5323.15, up 6.60 points or 0.12 per cent. The broader index touched a low of 5288.15 and high of 5333.30 in today’s trade. The BSE Midcap Index was up 0.84 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved higher by 0.70 per cent. BSE Realty Index advanced 1.43 per cent, BSE Healthcare Index moved 1.42 per cent higher and BSE IT Index edged 0.73 per cent up.

Market breadth was positive on the BSE with 1901 advances against 1191 declines.

Indian stock indices in red as globas cues engulf Dalal street

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 17748.60 down 127.95 points. The index touched a low of 17725.63 and high of 17868.12 during trading sessions today. Nifty closed at 5316.55, down 36.75 points. The 50 share index hit a low of 5311.05 and high of 5354.35.

BSE Midcap Index was down 0.02 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.05 per cent higher. BSE FMCG Index was up 0.72 per cent and BSE Oil&gas Index advanced 0.04 per cent. BSE Metal Index slipped 1.90 per cent and BSE IT Index declined 1.29 per cent.

Market breadth was negative on the BSE with 1318 gainers against 1533 losers.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 5034, down 101.50 points or 1.98 per cent. The index hit intraday low of 5004.25 and high of 5132.95 in today’s trade.

BSE Midcap Index fell 1.37 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 1.45 per cent lower. BSE Metal Index was down 3.99 per cent, BSE Realty Index declined 3.89 per cent and BSE Oil&gas Index slipped 1.92 per cent. Market breadth was negative on the BSE with 1909 declines against 869 advances.

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex ended at 16572.03, down 372.60 points or 2.20 per cent. The index touched a low of 16318.39 and high of 16942.82 in today’s trade.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 4970.20, down 116.10 points or 2.28 per cent. The broader index hit intraday low of 4961.05 and high of 5086.95.

BSE Midcap Index was down 1.33 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.99 per cent lower.

All the sectoral indices ended in the red. BSE Metal Index fell 3.86 per cent, BSE Realty Index slipped 2.95 per cent and BSE Oil&gas Index declined 2.53 per cent.

Positive Europe opening boosts SENSEX at closing hours

(posted under BSE closing) - Sensex closed at provisional 16,938.03, advancing 74.97 points or 0.44 per cent from Friday’s close. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s 30-share index charted a high of 16,971.15 versus a low of 16,806.50 intraday.

Nifty ended the day at provisional 5088.80, gaining 22.25 points or 0.44 per cent. The National Stock Exchange benchmark saw a high of 5097.60 against a low of 5038.55.

PSU, auto and healthcare stocks did well in this choppy market, while realty, IT, capital goods proved laggards.

The top index gainers included M&M, ONGC, BHEL, Hero Honda, SBI, Wipro, RIL, Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel.
