Pharma, Auto, bank stocks drag SENSEX down -20/7
Indian stock markets witnessed a lackluster day today as there was not much at the Dalal Street.
At the end of the day, SENSEX closed down by little over 50 pts and Nifty too closed down. Major decline were in Pharma stocks, Auto stocks and banking stocks.
The details about today's trading are as follows:
Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 17856.75, down 71.67 points. The index touched intraday high of 18040.17 and low of 17848.07.
National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at day’s low of 5353.65, down 32.80 points. The index touched a high of 5416.45 in today’s trade.

BSE Midcap Index was down 0.47 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.43 per cent lower.
BSE Healthcare Index declined 0.92 per cent and BSE Auto Index slipped 0.88 per cent higher and BSE Bankex was 0.55 per cent lower. BSE Realty Index moved up.

Forward Markets Commission provides new guidelines
(FMC) has changed guideline that has limited the stake of any single stock exchange in a national-level commodity bourse to a maximum of 5 per cent and has asked bourses to comply by December 31, 2010.
On it's official website it has clearly stated that 'The shareholding of any single Stock Exchange along with the persons acting in concert shall not be more than 5 percent of the subscribed and paid up equity capital of the said National Commodity Exchange.'

Indian Stock Indices - BSE | NSE down
Major Indian Stock markets closed in red today as ITC, maruti, Sterlite and delhi land finance were in red through out the trading day. It may be noted that market breadth was however positive with 1492 advances and 1380 declines.
The reason for lower closing is mainly weak global cues with major world indices in red.
