BSE witnesses lackluster trading day
National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at 5379.90, down 6.25 points.
Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 17913.42, down 24.74 points. BSE Midcap Index was up 0.20 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.16 per cent higher. BSE FMCG Index moved up 0.80 per cent and BSE IT Index advanced 0.63 per cent. BSE Oil&gas Index declined 0.78 per cent and BSE Realty Index edged 0.70 per cent lower.

Indian markets down on profit booking - 14/7
All the major stock markets of India closed in red today as investors booked profits as the SENSEX crossed the 18000 mark yesterday, IT index however remained in red as it was yesterday because of poor show by Infosys(read full).
All sectoral indices were down with M&M, Ranbaxy, Idea, Suzlon leading the list of top loosers of the day. NSE's Nifty ended at 5378, down 22.65 points or 0.42 per cent.
BSE's 30 share benchmark Sensex closed at 17938.16, down 47.74 points or 0.27 per cent. BSE Midcap Index was down 0.46 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.26 per cent lower.
BSE Capital Goods Index was up 1.13 per cent and BSE Bankex advanced 0.28 per cent. BSE IT Index was down 1.35 per cent. thus making the market breadth negative with 1779 declines v/s 1370 advances.

Indian Stock Markets closes up as EU boosts
(posted under - SENSEX closing, Indian stock markets) - Major Indian stock indices closed in green today as Euro Zone economies showed some promising growth as Euro was up by 1 percent against USD.
Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex ended at 16,922.08, up 264.04 points or 1.59% per cent. The index touched a high of 16942.60 and low of 16668.91.
National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 5,078.60, up 78.30 points or 1.57% per cent. The 50-share index hit a high of 5085.20 and low of 4997.60.
BSE Midcap Index was up 1.15 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index advanced 1.35 per cent higher.
Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE Auto Index gained 3.53 per cent, BSE Metal Index moved 2.29 per cent higher and BSE Realty Index advanced 1.83 per cent.
Market breadth was positive on the BSE with 1555 gainers and 1089 losers.

BSE SENSEX | NIFTY closes over 1 perc down
(posted under - BSE closing, Nifty closing) - Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 16,617.10, down 163.97 points or 0.98 per cent. The index touched a low of 16,560.64 and high of 16,895.73 during the session.
National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at 4897.10, down 46.90 points or 0.87 per cent. The broader index touched a low of 4967.30 and high of 5071.35 intraday.
The BSE Midcap Index and BSE Smallcap Index ended 0.55 per cent lower each. BSE Realty Index fell 2.57 per cent, BSE Metal Index moved 2.19 per cent lower and BSE Oi&gas Index declined 1.38 per cent. Market breadth was negative on the NSE with 1838 losers against 1249 gainers.

NSE's NIFTY ends in green today
(posted under - NSE closing, NIFTY closing)- National Stock Exchange's 50 share NIFTY closed up today after gaining some momentum from other Asian markets, Nifty opened in red today but gained as the day progressed.
Nifty ended today at 5135.50, up 25 points. The 50 share index touched a low of 5091.60 and high of 5147.90.

weak global cues bring bears at SENSEX - closes down
Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex ended at 16572.03, down 372.60 points or 2.20 per cent. The index touched a low of 16318.39 and high of 16942.82 in today’s trade.
National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 4970.20, down 116.10 points or 2.28 per cent. The broader index hit intraday low of 4961.05 and high of 5086.95.
BSE Midcap Index was down 1.33 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.99 per cent lower.
All the sectoral indices ended in the red. BSE Metal Index fell 3.86 per cent, BSE Realty Index slipped 2.95 per cent and BSE Oil&gas Index declined 2.53 per cent.

Indian stocks nosedives as Germany uncertainity rules
The closing stock prices of major indian stock indices for today(20/5/2010) is as follows:
National Stock Exchange's Nifty ended at 4921.40, down 144.80 points or 2.86 per cent. The index slipped below 200DMA of 4988 before hitting intraday low of 4908.15.
The index breached its 200 DMA for second time in last three trading sessions. According to analysts, the situation will worsen if the index continues to close below 200 DMA for at least two consecutive sessions on huge volumes.
Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex was at 16415.73, down 460.03 points or 2.73 per cent. The index hit intraday low of 16373.32 and high of 16802.39.
Traders offloaded stocks from broader markets as well. BSE Midcap Index fell 2.62 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index slipped 2.61 per cent lower.
All the sectoral indices were beaten down bad and blue. BSE Metal Index fell 4.51 per cent, BSE Realty Index tumbled 3.98 per cent and BSE Bankex declined 3.65 per cent.

INDIAN STOCK MARKETS CLOSES IN RED - 26/10
Major indian stock indices like BSE's SENSEX and NSE's NIFTY closed in red as banking stocks and Realty stocks were sold by investors. Market breadth on BSE was negative with 1707 declines against 1015 advances.
The 50 share Nifty closed at 4964.55, down 32.50 points or 0.65 per cent. It touched a high of 5033.75 and low of 4961.35.
30 share benchmark index Sensex ended at 16711.97, down 98.84 points or 0.59 per cent. The index touched a low of 16706.08 and high of 16938.88.
BSE Midcap Index was down 1.79 percent.
BSE Smallcap Index declined 1.33 percent.
BSE Realty Index was down 4.44 percent.
BSE Bankex fell 1.64 percent.
BSE Oil&gas Index was also down 1.48 percent.
However the following indices closed in green today:
BSE Healthcare Index was up 0.94 percent.
BSE FMCG Index was also up by 0.87 percent.
BSE IT Index was up 0.46 percent.

Sensex closes 151 pts up | Nifty up ~50 pts
BSE sensex gained 151 pts to close at 14645.47 and Nifty closed at 4340.90 up by 49.80 pts. “Nifty has resistance at 4305-4335-4355 and above 4355 it may move to 4370 during the day. The index has support at 4270-4250-4225 and below 4225 we can see more selling pressure and Nifty could move to 4200-4185,
One and half hour after market opened today Sensex was at 14433.17, down 60.67 points or 0.42 per cent. The index touched an intra-day high of 14648.42 and low of 14400.42, NSE Nifty was at 4273.45, down 17.65 points or 0.41 per cent. The broader index touched an intra-day high of 4338.25 and low of 4261.35.
BSE Midcap Index was down 0.61 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index fell 0.74 per cent.
Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE Metal Index was down 1.66 per cent, BSE PSU Index slipped 1.09 per cent and BSE Power Index declined 0.85 per cent. BSE FMCG Index was 0.62 per cent higher.
Market breadth was negative on the BSE with 1444 declines and 671 advances today.

SENSEX closes at 15,127 pts | NIFTY at 4550.95 both in green
(9/6/09 BSE | NSE closing) - Indian Market began trade lower in line with Asian markets but bullish sentiments prevailed and traders rushed in to buy stocks which were beaten down Monday. Comments from the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that India can achieve growth rate of 8-9% on its own also boosted sentiments. Realty, IT and metals were the top performing sectors in today’s trade on high volumes. It can be said that speculators made huge bucks in two days of trading.

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex ended at 15,127, up 461.08 points or 3.14 per cent. The index touched an intra-day high of 15161.22 and low of 14526.69.
BSE Midcap Index was up 3.15 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index gained 1.67 per cent
National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 4550.95, up 121.05 points or 2.73 per cent. The broader index hit a high of 4562.45 and low of 4365.10.
Biggest Sensex gainers were DLF (10.07%), Jaiprakash Associates (8.18%), Reliance Communications (7.37%), Larsen & Toubro (6.39%) and Ranbaxy Laboratories (6.37%).

BSE Sensex falls 437 pts | Nifty down 157 pts
(8/6/09 BSE | NSE Closing) - The 30 share SENSEX fell by a whopping 437 pts as investors sold their shares to make profits ending a 13 week bullish run. Metal, banking and realty stocks suffered hefty losses. The fall was the third-highest after those of January 7 and March 30.

In a similar fashion, the 50-share National Stock Exchange index Nifty dropped by 157.00 points to 4,429.90, breaking a psychological 4,600 level.
Only information technology stocks were in positive territory following a firming dollar, raising hopes of better revenue. Over 50 per cent of the country's software export revenue comes from the US markets.
Marketmen said the steep rise of 88 per cent in the market was overdone and attracted profit-selling by funds and retail investors.
The major puller to the market were heavy-weight stocks like Sterlite Industries, Reliance Industries, Tata Steel, Reliance Communications, Reliance Infra, Jaiprakash Associates, ICICI Bank and State Bank of India.

Sensex recovers and closes at 15008 | Nifty at 4572
(4/6/09 - Sensex closing) - Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed above the psychological 15000 mark for the first-time in 9-months. The 30-share index ended at 15,008.68, up 137.78 points or 0.93 per cent. It touched an intra-day high of 15026.03 and low of 14599.43.

The BSE Midcap Index closed 2.26 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved up 2.20 per cent. Biggest Sensex gainers were Ranbaxy Laboratories (6.06%), Sun Pharmaceuticals (4.14%), Hindustan Unilever (3.73%), Reliance Infrastructure (3.39%) and Larsen & Toubro (3.3%). Sterlite Industries (-5.91%), Hindalco Industries (-3.54%), Tata Steel (-3.53%), Wipro (-1.26%) and Infosys Technologies (-1.15%) were the losers.
Market breadth on BSE showed 2,130 advances against 688 declines today.

BSE | NSE | DJIA | NASDAQ stock rates at closing
Hi all the esteemed visitor's to my blog, this post would show the closing stock rates of Indian Stock markets like the Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE) NIFTY(national Stock exchange as well as the closing rates of Dow Jones Industrial Average(DJIA) and Nasdaq last two are both from USA. How ever all the rates are according to indian standard calendar and time (please check the US timings for corresponding DJIA and nasdaq closing rates.
Normally for eg - 21st april 2009 in this post would correspond to 20th april 2009 and so on.
