BSE SENSEX | NIFTY analysis for today 5-7


The benchmark indian stock indices like BSE's SENSEX and national Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed down today as Reliance, BHEL and ITC pulled index down.

The large-cap index closed down by nearly 70 points today.

Sensex closed at 18744.56, down 69.92 points. The 30-share index hit a high of 18837.88 during intraday trading.

National Stock Exchange's broader index Nifty closed at 5632.10, down 18.40 points. The broader index touched a low of 5612.30 in daytrade today.

Most of the sectoral indices of BSE also remained in red today. BSE Oil&gas Index closed down 1.60 percent, BSE FMCG Index declined by 1.29 percent and BSE Realty Index moved 1.29 percent lower. BSE Auto Index moved 0.88 percent higher, BSE IT Index gained 0.37 percent today and BSE Bankex gained 0.33 percent higher. However market breadth remained positive on NSE today.

Global sentiments boost BSE | NSE - closes in green


Positive global investor sentiment boosted major indian stock indices like Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's broader index NIFTY today, both the indices closed up by over 1 percent.

National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed at 5600.45, up 55.15 points. The broader index touched a high of 5608.65 in intraday trade today.

Whereas Bombay Stock Exchange's large-cap Sensex closed at 18693.86, up 201.41 points. The 30-component index hit a low of 18552.19 during intraday trading.

BSE Midcap Index also closed up by 0.78 percent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.95 percent higher. All of the sectoral indices also moved higher today BSE FMCG Index was up 2.58 percent, BSE Metal Index gained 1.52 percent and BSE Bankex moved 0.96 percent higher.

Majority of the global stock markets are also trading in greeen today.

Indian stocks closes down as investors keep fingers crossed for RBI meeting



The benchmark Indian stock indices including the Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed down today as investors looked cautioned ahead of the RBI meet which is to take place tomorrow. Braced with a prospect of inflation surpassing initial expectations yet again and taking comfort from a shallower than anticipated moderation in industrial production, we believe that the RBI is likely to hike its repo rate by 25 bps when it meets tomorrow.

Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex ended at 18132.24, down 176.42 points today. The large-cap index hit a high of 18308.69 during intraday trading today.

The National Stock Exchange's broader index Nifty closed at 5447.10, down 53 points. The index touched a low of 5438.95 inday trade today.

Global uncertainity pulls Indian stocks down



A very good evening to all the visitors of livebombaystockexchange blog. Major Indian stock indices like Bombay Stocks Exchange's 30 component large-cap SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed in red down by over 0.7 percent today. Stocks from Banks, metals, realty and auto sector remained heavily hit whereas Oil and gas and FMCG stocks remained in green today.

BSE Bankex moved 1.52 percent in red, BSE Metal Index was also down by 1.32 percent and BSE Realty Index declined by whopping 1.26 percent. BSE FMCG Index was however up by 1.01 percent and BSE Oil&gas Index moved in green by just 0.15 percent today.

The benchmark SENSEX closed below the 18500 mark and was at 18494.18, down 114.63 points after hitting a low of 18390.57 in daytrade today.

Indian stock indices looked in upbeat mood today as both Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed up today. Stock prices of Capital goods, power and technology stocks went greener whereas Pharma and Auto stocks closed in red.

BSE's SENSEX | NIFTY in upbeat mood closes 1 percent up


Benchmark Indian stock indices saw heavy buying today as both 30 component SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed up today by over 1 percent. NIFTY ended over 5400 mark today.

The 30 component large-cap Sensex closed at 18044.64, up 197.40 points. The 30-share index hit a high of 18072.61 in day trading today.

The broader index National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed at 5412.35, up 63.40 points today. Oil&gas, metals and auto sector stocks were major gainers today.

BSE Midcap Index closed up by 0.14 percent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.46 percent in green.

BSE's Sector wise updates for today:

BSE Oil&gas Index closed up 2.90 percent, BSE Metal Index moved 1.50 percent in green and BSE Auto Index advanced 1.49 percent. BSE IT Index was however down 0.19 percent due to weak showing by TechM and BSE FMCG Index closed 0.07 percent lower.

Market breadth remained positive on the National stock exchange with 1534 advances against 1291 declines.

Indian Markets nosedives at close today


The benchmark Indian stock indices like Bombay Stock Exchange's 30 component large-cap Sensex closed at 17993.33, down 332.76 points. The 30-share index hit a high of 18269.06 in intraday trading today. BSE Midcap Index was down 1.41 percent and BSE Smallcap Index nosedived by 1.57 percent at EOD today.

The broader index National Stock Exchange's Nifty ended at 5386.55, down 99.80 points. The broader index touched intraday low of 5373 in day trade today.

The main reason for this decline is european uncertainity euro-zone debt crisis triggered a sell-off in global equities. Greece's credit rating to B+ while Standard & Poor's cut its outlook on Italy to "negative" from "stable" by one of the rating agency.

All of the sectoral indices also closed in deep red today, BSE Capital Goods Index fell 2.95 percent, BSE Power Index moved 2.91 percent lower, BSE Bankex slipped 2.85 percent and BSE Realty Index declined 2.79 percent. BSE FMCG Index was however up 0.59 percent.

Market breadth was negative on the BSE with 1973 declines as compared to 801 advances.

SENSEX | NIFTY closes with slight gain

The benchmark Indian indices like Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed slightly in green today, with majority of sectoral indices also remaining in green.

The 30 component large-cap BSE's Sensex ended at 18,141.40, up 55.20 points. The index touched a high of 18198.45 in day trading today.

National Stock exchange's broader index NIFTY also closed slight up today at 5428.10, up by 7.50 points touching a low of 5411.25 in intraday trading.

Sector-wise performance for today:
BSE Midcap Index closed down 0.70 percent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.54 percent in red. BSE Capital Goods Index gained 2.82 percent today, BSE Oil&gas Index also moved 1.16 percent higher and BSE IT Index gained 0.34 percent. BSE Realty Index was however down by 2.87 percent, BSE Metal Index declined by 0.98 percent and BSE Power Index slipped 0.85 percent in red.

BSE SENSEX live at close | NIFTY in red



The benchmark Indian stock indices including the Bombay Stock EXchange's 30 component SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's broader index NIFTY closed in red today with both indices down by over 1 percent.

The BSE's large-cap SENSEX closed at 18335.79, down 249.17 points. The index touched a high of 18610.02 in intraday trading today.

The broader index Nifty closed at 5486.20, down 78.90 points or 1.42 percent.

Sectoral wise updates from BSE:

BSE Midcap Index closed down by 0.91 percent and BSE Smallcap Index slipped 1.06 percent in red.
Almost all of the sectoral indices also closed in red today with BSE Metal Index closing down 2.99 percent, BSE Capital Goods Index declining 1.42 percent and BSE Bankex moved 1.39 percent lower. BSE Realty Index was however up by 0.48 percent.

Indian stock Indices | SENSEX | NIFTY closes up


The benchmark Indian stock indices like Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed in green thus ending the losing spree.

The 30 component Sensex closed today at 18518.81, up 308.23 points. The large-cap index hit a high of 18568.48 in intraday trading today.

National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed at 5551.45, up 91.60 points. The index touched a high of 5564.40 during day trade today.

Sector wise performance:
BSE Bankex was up 3.71 percent, BSE Auto Index moved 3.13 percent in green and BSE IT Index closed up by 1.84 percent.

Indian stock indices closes down - uncertainity prevails


Benchmark Indian stock indices including the Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's broader index NIFTY closed in red by over 0.5 percent.

Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex closed at 18469.36, down by 65.33 points. The 30-component large-cap index touched low of 18339.53 during intraday trading.

BSE Sector wise closing updates-
BSE Auto Index closed down 1.33 percent, BSE IT Index moved 1.08 percent in red and BSE Metal Index slipped 1.05 percent. BSE Oil&gas Index was however up 1.2 percent and BSE FMCG gained 0.36 percent.

The broader index Nifty closed at 5537.15, down 28.10 points. The broader index touched a high of 5578.80 and low of 5503 intraday trading.

Indian stock markets in red | BSE | NSE down


Major indian stock indices like Bombay Stock Exchange's 30 component large-cap index SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY are trading slightly in red as Indian markets are witnessing lackluster trading day.

NSE's NIFTY is however showing some stiff resistence at 5900 levels today.

The benchmark SENSEX is at 19545.35 down by 38.96 points and NSE's NIFTY at 5868.40 down by 6.10 pts while posting. Heavyweights like HCLTech, Bharti, L&T and Petronet are in green while infosys stock is shedding flab today.

SENSEX | NIFTY closes up by over 1.5 percent


It proved to be good day for Indian stock markets and investors as benchmark indices closed in green by over 1.5 percent. Both Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and NSE'S broader index Nifty closed up by over 110 pts.

Sensex closed at 19470.98, up 349.15 points or 1.83 per cent. The 30-share index hit a high of 19484.77 intraday trading.

BSE | NSE witness heavy selling closes in deep red


The Bombay Stock Exchange's benchmark index Sensex closed at 19091.17, down 295.65 points. The 30-share index hit a low of 19071.47 during intraday trading. Investors becoming bearish on RBI rate news. Market breadth was negative on the BSE with 1713 declines against 1177 advances.

The broader index NSE's Nifty ended at 5729.10, down 94.45 points or 1.64 percent today. The sectoral indices at Bombay Stock Exchange also remained in red today. BSE Midcap Index fell 1.29 percent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.81 percent in red.

Sector wise updates from Bombay Stock Exchange:

BSE Realty Index closed down by 3.17 percent, BSE IT Index was also down by 2.73 percent and BSE Capital Goods Index declined 2.12 percent aswell. The global peers also showed lackluster trading and were in red.

Indian markets close up SENSEX | NIFTY gains



The benchmark indian stock indices closed in green today as both BSE's SENSEX and NSE's NIFTY closed in green today thus ending a five day loosing streek.

Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex closed at 19696.86, up 434.32 points or 2.25 per cent. The index hit a high of 19737.33 and low of 19101.63 intraday. Nifty ended at 5911.50, up 125.80 points today.

BSE Capital Goods Index closed up 2.73 percent, BSE Auto Index gained 2.54 percent and BSE Bankex advanced 2.32 percent.

Market breadth was positive on the NSE with 2004 advances against 989 declines.

Indian stocks in red for fifth day in row




The benchmark stock indices of India including Bombay Stock exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed again in red for fifth consuctive day today.

Daily BSE Analysis - Indian stock indices closes up by nearly 1 percent



Boosted by the increase in Foreign investments for last 6 sessions the benchmark Indian stock indices like Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and national Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed up by nearly 1 percent today.

The 30 component benchmark index Sensex closed today at 19120.80, up 177.66 points. The large-cap index touched a high of 19226.21 in intraday trade today.

Auto stocks | banks boost SENSEX | NIFTY closes up


Bubble: A Study of Scam, Scandal and Corruption in Indian Stock Market

Major indian stock indices like Bombay Stock Exchange's 30 component Sensex closed at 18943.14, up 127.50 points. The 30-share large-cap index touched a high of 19024.18 in day trade today.

The broader index National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed at 5687.25, up 33 points. The index touched a low of 5643.20 during intraday trading hours.

Sectoral updates of BSE:
BSE Auto Index closed up 1.52 percent, BSE Capital Goods Index also gained 1.27 percent and BSE Bankex closed up by 1.21 percent. BSE Healthcare Index was however down by 1.17 percent and BSE Realty Index declined 0.56 percent.

Market breadth was negative on the BSE with 1243 advances against 1724 declines.
