SENSEX | NIFTY closes up as budget boosts



Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee presented the union budget for 2011-12 today and also increased tax collection base by increasing tax in some areas including IT, SEZ's.

Indian Stock indices like BSE's SENSEX and NSE's Nifty closed up today as investors booked profits from initial rally due to budget announcements.

Bombay Stock Exchange’s 30 component Sensex closed at 17832.12, up 131.21 points. The 30-share index touched a high of 18296.53 in intraday trading.

Indian stock markets closes down by nearly 3 percent



(Posted under BSE closing, NSE closing)- National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at 5279.05, down 158.30 points.

The 30 component large-cap index Sensex closed at 17666.20, down 512.13 points. Banks, Realty and Capital goods stocks remained worst hit.

BSE Midcap Index closed down by 2.69 percent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 2.74 per cent lower. BSE Bankex fell 4.33 percent, BSE Capital Goods Index also lowered 3.96 percent and BSE Auto Index fell by over 3.72 percent.

Realty IT pulls SENSEX | NIFTY down by >0.6 perc



Indian Stock Indices closed lower today. The 30 component benchmark index Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex ended at 18178.33, down 117.83 points The large-cap index touched a low of 18150.01 in intraday trading.

The broader index Nifty closed at 5437.35, down by 31.85 points. The index touched a high of 5495.20 in day trade.

Most of the sectoral indices also closed lower today. Realty and IT stocks were worst hit.

Indian markets down as Libya uncertainity increases



A very good evening to all the visitor's to live bombay stock exchange blog. The unrest in Libya has already affected global markets and so major indian stock indices like Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed down by nearly 1 percent today.

The 30 component large-cap index SENSEX fell by 142.15 points to close at 18,296.16. Stock price of RIL was in green due to deal with BP worth 7.2 billion yesterday.

RIL | BP sign biggest FDI deal in India worth 7.2 billion $


The news from Indian Inc coming today are that India's biggest private company Reliance Industries Ltd and British Petroleum signed a $ 7.2 billion deal for 30 percent stake in KG basin.

Mukesh Ambani sealed the deal in London and looked very happy with the acomplishment, The deal is bigger then Ranbaxy takeover by japenese Daiichi Sankyo. However there are even bigger FDI deals in pipeline, lets see when these deals materialise.

SENSEX | NIFTY smiles throughout the day - closes up



It was a good day for Indian stock indices today as both Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed in green, Indian Inc. also saw $7.2 billion deal between Reliance Industries and British Petroleum.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 5518.60, up 59.65 points. The broader index touched a low of 5413.10 in intraday trading.

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 18438.31, up 226.79 points. The large-cap index touched a high of 18457.49 intraday trading.

Sector wise performance of BSE today:
BSE Midcap Index was down 0.04 percent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.09 percent lower. BSE IT Index was up 2.74 percent, BSE Oil&gas Index moved 1.81 percent in green and BSE Metal Index moved up 1.31 percent. BSE Auto Index was down 1.18 percent.

Profit booking drags Indian stock indices down



Good evening to all the esteemed visitors to livebombaystockexchange blog. The news from Indian stock markets like Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock exchange at closing is bad as benchmark indices closed in red today. Investors booked profits after rally in couple of past trading sessions.

Shares of ADAG group were worst hit today due to selloff. ONGC also declined. National Stock Exchange’s broader index Nifty ended at 5458.95, down 87.50 points. The Bombay Stock Exchange's 30 component index Sensex closed at 18211.52, down 295.30 points today.

Major losers today were Reliance Communications (-6.80%), Reliance Infrastructure (-5.60%) and ONGC (-3.40%).

Market breadth was negative on the BSE with 2085 declines against 773 advances.

SENSEX | NIFTY witness lackluster trading day



Major Indian stock indexes including the 30 component large-cap SENSEX and NIFTY closed almost flat today. Indian stock markets remainded lackluster through out the day.

The broader index Nifty closed at 5481.70, up 0.70 points.touching a low of 5460.35 in intraday trading.

The Sensex closed at 18300.90, up 27.10 points today. The large-cap index touched a high of 18216.12 today.

SENSEX | NIFTY closes with gains | RIL leads



A very good evening to esteemed visitors, The news from Indian stock indices like Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY is good as the indices closed in green for third straight session. However the correction in Indian stock markets with respect to global peers is expected and might be seen in coming days.

The Bombay Stock Exchange's 30 component index SENSEX closed at 18273.80 up by 71.60 points, the main boosting factor was Reliance industries limited. The large cap index touched 18,361.66 in intraday trading today.

Red bath by Indian Stock markets goes into another day


A very good morning to all the visitor's to my blog. The correction of indian stock indices continued today also with benchmark indices like Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closing down by nearly 1 percent.

Stock prices of technology companies, Realty and Oil and Gas all closed in deep red as SENSEX closed down by 130 points today.

SENSEX closing today:
Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 17463.04, down 129.73 points. The large-cap 30 component index touched a low of 17362.59 in intraday trading.

SENSEX | NIFTY closes near flat markets volatility continues



Major Indian Stock indices closed nearly flat with just minor gains today. The broader index National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed flat with just 0.25 pt gain, the index closed at 5396.00.

News from economy wise is that GDP estimate for FY11 sees growth at 8.6%. Rebound in agriculture from 0.4% in FY10 to 5.4%, while industry and services remained relatively stable at 8.1% and 9.6% respectively.

Global stock markets uncertainity is clearly visible in indian stock markets as both SENSEX and NIFTY remainde volatile with negative sentiment prevailing. The 30 component benchmark index Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX closed up by just 29 points and was at 18037.19 points. Market breadth was negative on the BSE with 928 declines against 455 advances.

Major Indain stock indices closed in green today after falling to 5 month low yesterday, the news about arrest of A Raja helped in boosting sentiments of investors. Stock price of Hero Honda motors fell by a whopping 6.12 percent today, I predict that Hero Honda motors would soon be removed from SENSEX due to declining market capitalization after Honda's divorce.

The index is at 18k levels and might remain in same range for rest of the month.
