Indian stock markets clueless | lackluster trading seen

Benchmark Indian stock indices ended a lackluster day today with Sensex closing just above 20K mark. BSE's SENSEX rose by 14.10 points to close at 20,005 points. The 30 component index touched high of 20,073.46 and a low of 19,964.64 during the day's trade. National Stock Exchange broader index Nifty rose by 5.85 points to end the day at 6,066.75 .

Sectorwise Realty, Consumer goods and Oil and gas gained while the other sectors saw selling and ended in red today.

BSE's SENSEX closes shy of 20K | NIFTY in red

It turned out a bad day for Indian stock markets today and even RBI move of decreasing the lending rates for banks didn't help in boosting investor confidence. All of the sectoral indices of Bombay Stock Exchange remained in red through out the day.

National Stock Exchange's broader index NIFTY also closed in red today. The 50 component index declined by 24.90 points to close at 6,049 today. The 30 component BSE's SENSEX closed shy of the 20K mark Sensex closed 112 points down at 19,990 thus breaching the physco mark of 20000. Earlier in the day Reserve Bank of India cut lending rates by 25 basis point, but it failed to boost investor sentiments which were hoping of even higher cut.

Indian stock markets cautious on RBI policy

Indian stock markets remained clueless today as investors took a cautious appraoch ahead of RBI credit policy announcement. RBI is in no mood in decreasing lending rates even this time. Major Stock indices including BSE's SENSEX and NSE's NIFTY index witnessed a lackluster trading day today.

30 component most watched SENSEX closed lower by 0.18 points at 20,103. whereas the broader index NSE's NIFTY closed the day up by 0.15 points at 6074.80 .

SENSEX up by 45 points in lackluster trading

SENSEX at 2 year high thanks to RIL results - 21/1/2013

Greetings from LiveBombayStockExchange, your one stop website for daily updates from Indian stock markets. Today turned out to be good day for Indian stock indices as strong quarterly results of Reliance industries boosted investor confidence and RIL finally ending the day up by 2.35 percent.

The 30 component most followed Sensex closed higher by 62.78 points at 20,101.82 with 17 out of 30 companies ending the day in green and 13 in red. National Stock Exchange's broader index Nifty gained 17.90 points to end the day at 6,082.30.

Oil and gas sector stocks led the gainers today.
