More about Indian Stock markets | Regional Stock exchanges


I thought to post on Indian Stock markets as a whole as there was no post for Indian stock markets which includes National Stock Markets and Regional Stock markets.

India has two national exchanges, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Each has fully electronic trading platforms with around 9400 participating broking outfits. Foreign brokers account for 29 of these. There are some 9600 companies listed on the respective exchanges with a combined market capitalisation near $125.5bn.

SENSEX | NIFTY nosedives on global economic fears

Bombay Stock Exchange's 30-share large cap SENSEX closed down by nearly 2 percent or 328.12 points, at 16,141.67, 21 out of 30 components of SENSEX remained in green with Infosys worst hit and down by 5.5 percent today. BSE's SENSEX is down 21 percent this year, dropped 5 percent this week, extending its losses to 14 percent in four straight weeks.

Indian stock markets down as second dip fears rise


A very good evening to visitors of livebombaystockexchange. The news from Indian stock markets including the Bombay Stock Exchange and National stock exchange is not good as benchmark indices SENSEX and NIFTY both closed in deep red. Major global stock markets are also down as fears of second dip of recession are rising enormously.

Benchmark Indian stock indices like Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed down today. Nifty closed under 5000 today.

National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed today at 4944.15, down 112.45 points. The broader index touched a low of 4932.12 during daytrade today.

Indian Stock Indices mixed SENSEX | NIFTY rise but MICAPS fall


Indian stock indices including Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed up today. The strange thing is that MIDCAP and SMALLCAP closed lower today.

Bombay Stock Exchange's 30 component Sensex closed today at 16853.62, up 122.68 points. The large cap index touched low of 16708.98 during day trading today.

National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed at 5,063.10, up 27.30 points today. The broader index touched a high of 5112.15 during intraday trade today.
