Indian Stock Indices closes in red as banks | realty dissapoints



Happy New year to all the readers of my blog, The news at closing from Dalal street located Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange's benchmark indices is that major indian stock indices like BSE's SENSEX and NSE's Nifty remained in red and finally closed in red too.

The broader index NIFTY closed below the crucial 6150 level and read 6146.35, down 11.25 points. NIFTY touched 6181.05 during intraday trading

Most of the sectoral indices of Bombay Stock Exchange also remained in red today. The details of closing index prices of sectoral indices of BSE are as follows:

Indian stock indices SENSEX | NIFTY closes in red today



Indian stock indices like Bombay stock exchange's sensex and National stock exchange's Nifty closed lower today as investors are in no purchasing mood till the new year eve.

SENSEX closed above 20000 levels today thus maintaining resistance levels, whereas broader index NIFTY closed at 5998.10, down 13.50 points, just shy of 6K levels.

The 30 component SENSEX closed at 20028.93, down 44.73 points.

BSE launches shariah laws complaint index with 50 components


The oldest stock exchange of Asia,Bombay Stock Exchange launched much awaited index whose components are complaint with shariah islamic laws. Basically companies that stay away from Interest or the sale of alcohol, tobacco and other prohibited goods are included in the index and also these 50 companies are part of BSE 500 index. The weightage cap for scrip in Shariah is kept at 8 percent currently.

The official name of the index is kept as BSE TASIS Sharia 50.

130 crore scam unearthened- broker Hiten Dalal convicted



Stock broker Hiten Dalal and two former bank officials are convicted for siphoning off funds to the tune of Rs 130 crore from the bank in 1991. Justice J H Bhatia of the Bombay High Court, convicted and sentenced Dalal, R Dhankumar and S P Kamat, both former managers of Andhra Bank , to two years rigorous imprisonment last week.

It can be recalled that there are already 25 cases registered against Hiten Dalal, pity for indian markets as i don't think much would happen this time

Top companies increase m-capitalization



Top 10 largest indian companies by m-capitalizaion increased their market value by over 10000 crores when combined together. Stock prices of indian IT major Infosys topped the list wit market cap touching 193365 crores up by 4500 crores as it's stock price closed at 3300 levels.

Bharti Airtel was at second biggest gainer and added Rs 1,879.77 crore to its m-cap which reached at Rs 1,32,343.57 crore.

India's largest private bank ICICI Bank's market-captilization is also up by Rs 1,697.38 crore to Rs 1,28,525.13 crore, ITC also added Rs 1,462.79 crore. Market captilization of IT major TCS added just 58.71 crore to it's m-cap. NTPC added Rs 206.14 crore thus showing some selective buying by investors.

The 30 component benchmark index SENSEX gained mere 1.05 percent this week closing at 20073.66.

Stock prices of Anil Ambani led ADAG group Reliance Infra and Reliance Cap lost over 20 per cent each. state owned companies are worst hit with market cap shrinking tremendous low levels, CIL diminished by Rs 5,337.32 crore. State Bank of India valuation declined to Rs 1,74,933.4 crore.

National stock exchange's Nifty closed at 5980, down 4.40 points today. The 30 component sensex also closed in red today and below 20k mark. Sensex fnally slept at 9,982.88, down 32.92 points. The index touched high of touched a high of 20076.08 during trading hours.
