Infosys results lift SENSEX | Up by 2.6 percent

Benchmark Indian stock indices like Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY remained in green throughout the day today as better then expected Q3 results from Infosys technologies boosted investor sentiments. Infosys closed up by over 2.6 percent today.

BSE's 30 component benchmark index SENSEX closed up by 421.92 points, at 16,958.39 points. making it's biggest close in 20 days. Whereas broader index 50-share NSE NIFTY gained 125.05 points to close at 5,099.40 points today.

Banks Realty stock lifts SENSEX | NIFTY by 2 percent

A very good evening to visitors of LiveBombayStockExchange. Benchmark Indian Stock indices including Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's broader index NIFTY closed up by over 2 percent today. Banks, Metals and Realty stocks led the gains.

National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed at 4889.25, up 137.95 points. The 50 component index touched a high of 4922.60 in daytrade today.

Whereas Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex closed today at 16246.24, up by 453.83 points. The 30-share large-cap index touched low of 16148.97 during intraday trading.

Market breadth was positive on the NSE with 2038 gainers against 1264 losers.

SENSEX NIFTY closes in deep red today

Benchmark Indian Stock indices including Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed down by nearly two percent today.

BSE's SENSEX closed down 286.59 points at 15,864.86, 23 of its components closed in red. The large-cap most watched indian index touched low of 15,745.43 points during day trade today. Today's fall pulls SENSEX down to 5 month lows.

The 50-share broader index NSE's NIFTY closed by 77.35 points at 4,772.15 with majority of the components in deep red. SBI remained worst hit stock after Moody's degraded it's ranking to D+ from C-.
