Benchmark Indian Stock indices including Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed lower today as investors booked profits after couple of days of rally. Midcap and SmallCap however closed almost flat.
The most watched Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex closed at 16883.92, down 74.47 points. The 30 component index touched intraday low of 16854.03 today.
National Stock Exchange's broader index Nifty closed at 5077.85, down 21.55 points. The index touched a high of 5136.95 during daytrade today.
