Indian stocks in red for fifth day in row

The benchmark stock indices of India including Bombay Stock exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed again in red for fifth consuctive day today.

The 30 component SENSEX closed down by 97 percent to 19,262.54 points. The 50-share broader index NIFTY index fell 0.96 percent to close at 5,785.70. 22 components closed down at Bombay Stock Exchange today.

SENSEX | NIFTY closes in green

Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex closed at 19445.22, up 155.04 points or 0.80 per cent. The 30-share index touched a high of 19575.16 and low of 19284.35 in today's trade.

National Stock Exchange's Nifty ended at 5833.75, up 46.10 points or 0.80 per cent. The broader index touched a high of 5872 and low of 5778.65 intraday.

BSE sector wise today:
BSE IT Index was up 1.92 per cent, BSE FMCG Index gained 1.67 per cent and BSE Oil&gas Index moved 1.44 per cent higher. BSE Bankex was down 0.70 per cent and BSE Healthcare Index slipped 0.35 per cent.

Market breadth remained almost flat on the Bombay Stock Exchange with 1444 advances against 1412 declines.

Boosted by the increase in Foreign investments for last 6 sessions the benchmark Indian stock indices like Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and national Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed up by nearly 1 percent today.

The 30 component benchmark index Sensex closed today at 19120.80, up 177.66 points. The large-cap index touched a high of 19226.21 in intraday trade today.

Sectoral updates of BSE:
BSE Auto Index closed up 1.52 percent, BSE Capital Goods Index also gained 1.27 percent and BSE Bankex closed up by 1.21 percent. BSE Healthcare Index was however down by 1.17 percent and BSE Realty Index declined 0.56 percent.

Market breadth was negative on the BSE with 1243 advances against 1724 declines.

BSE | NSE ends two week selling spree

Indian stock indices including Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock exchange's NIFTY gained over5 percent in last week.

Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex saw buying activity through out the week and surged by 936.83 points, or 5.23 percent. The stock prices of IT companies gained the most on friday over news that STPI should be extended by one more year, which should not be done as IT market is currently on rise and extension is not required at all.
