SENSEx above 17500 NIFTY rises too

welcome to LiveBombayStockExchange. Benchmark Indian stock indices including BSE's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed higher today. Major gainers for today are auto, metals, pharmaceuticals and FMCG sectors on the back of positive cues from European peers.

The 30 component Sensex closed today at 17503.71, up 111.32 points. The large-cap index touched an intraday high of 17530.30. The National Stock Exchange's broader index Nifty closed today at 5332.40, up 32.40 points, . It touched an low of 5291.30 during day's trade.
