The benchmark indian stock indices like Bombay Stock Exchange's 30 component SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY closed closed down by over 1 percent. The rising uncertainity over European economies was the main reason behind low investor confidence today.
The 30-share large-cap BSE SENSEX index closed 309.77 points lower at 18,411.62 points today, 28 of SENSEX components remained in red throughout the trading sessions.
The broader index NIFTY closed at 5526.15 points down by 89.95 points. Indian IT major Infosys fell by 5.96 percent today as it showed less then expected quarterly results today.
