SENSEX crashes by 526 points | INR at record low

The BSE benchmark sensex plunged by over 526 points on Thursday, its biggest fall in nearly two years, to end at 18,719.29 due to massive selling on worries that capital inflows may dry up if US Fed's sticks to its plan of slowing down monetary stimulus later this year.

The stock markets were also under heavy pressure after rupee touched life-time low of 59.93 against the dollar.

Sensex tumbled 526.41 points to 18,719.29, recording biggest single day fall since September 2011. Across market, over 1,650 stocks fell and just 650 rose. Investor wealth worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore was eroded on Thursday.

The broad-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty dipped below 5,700 level by losing 166.35 to close at 5,655.90 .

Major Indian stock exchanges are reeling under heavy selling pressures after Federal reserve's chairman Ben Bernanke announced that bond buying shall gradually end by december, thus signalling US economy revival is on right track and FII's take back money invested in Indian stock markets back for investing on their own land as economy becomes stable slowly.

The 30 component benchmark index BSE's SENSEX is down by over 450 points currently and is under 19k levels, whereas NSE's NIFTY is trading below the 5700 mark today.

Now since FII's are taking back USD's invested in Indian markets thus INR has fallen below the 60/USD mark today, because of INR falling to record low RBI has sold of US dollars through public sector banks to stop further fall. The summary of whole this comes to one line 'US FII's invested money in indian markets when their own market was not giving returns and now taking back their money' thus we can proudly say 'Indian Stock markets are not more then playground for non-indian FII's'.

The 30 component large-cap index SENSEX closed higher by 22.42 points and closed at 19,245.70, whereas National Stock Exchange's broader index NIFTY closed higher by 8.65 points at 5,822.25.

BSE's SENSEX ended the day at 2 month low today, down by 101 points at 19,041.13 . Broader index NSE's NIFTY ended the day at 5,760.20, down by 28.60 points.
