SENSEX crosses 20K as Banks, Auto stocks rise

Major Indian stock indices including the Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and national Stock Exchange's NIFTY is up today by over 1.5 percent currently as the 30 component SENSEX crossed the 20000 mark again. Stocks from Auto sector, Banking sector and Realty sector are leading the gainers list today.

BSE's SENSEX is trading at 20,055 up 333 points. It touched a high of 20059.43 and a low of 19,798.18 in trade till now thus witnessing see-saw about the 20k mark. Indian stock markets shall close in green today thus following the global peers.

Major Indian stock indices including the 30 component BSE's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY index closed in slight green today as investors purchased stocks from banking and healthcare sector.

BSE's Sensex ended with a gain of 30.62 points at 19,722.29. Whereas broad-based National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed higher by 14.95 points at 5,995.40.

BSE's SENSEX ends just shy of 20000

It turned out to be a good day for Indian stock markets as benchmark index Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX surpassed the 20000 mark in day's trade today. The 30 component index remained above 20k mark fir most of the trading sessions before closing slightly under the mark.

The most watched Sensex closed up by 101.23 points at 19,990.18 . The broader index NSE's NIFTY also remained in green and closed higher by 25.75 points at 6,069.30. Majority of the sectoral indices remained higher today. Stock price of HUL gained over 1.5 percent after news came about parent Unilever Plc giving open offer for raising it's stake from 52 percent to 75 percent.
