These companies varies from IT, manufacturing, Oil and gas etc. BSE's Carbonex index is based on BSE 100 index . Carbonex Index is index that holistically incorporates strategies, disclosures, performance and action in areas of carbon emission to create a comprehensive benchmark that identifies a company’s commitment to mitigate risks arising from climate change. Weightage of Constituents of BSE's Carbonex index is taken from three basic factors of a company:
1)Strategy and Governance - 40%
2)Reporting and Disclosures - 30%
3)Performance and Achievement - 20%
4)Ecosystem Action - 10%
BSE carbonex index follows a semi annual rebalancing calender and constituents can be removed or added into the index if some merger, acquisition takes place.
