Indian stock markets decline on weak rupee/Euro zone

Major indian stock indices including BSE's SENSEX and NSE's NIFTY closed in red today as weakening rupee against the dollar and bearish trend in European region hampered investor confidence. LnT led the loser's list at SENSEX as it closed down by 5.5 percent. 16 out of 30 components of SENSEX closed lower today.

30-component SENSEX index closed lower by 49.37 points at 20,062.24. The broader index NSE's NIFTY declined by 19.60 points to end the day at 6,094.50.
