SENSEX | NIFTY nosedives on weak global cues

It was a bad day for Indian stock markets as benchmark indices including Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX and National Stock Exchange's NIFTY index closed down by nearly 100 points.

The 30 component BSE Sensex closed at 18,485.78, down 315.86 points. The large-cap index touched a high of 18,733.62 and a low of 18,473.85 in day's trade today. Whereas 50-share index NIFTY closed at 5,573.10, down 99.80 points. The index touched a high of 5,644.45 and a low of 5,565.65 in today's trade. Market breadth was negative on the NSE with 194 gainers against 731 losers.
